EXCLUSIVE - Dreamgirl's 'DREAM' journey of 50 years

Celebrating 50 years of Hema Malini.

Hema Malini isn't just another actress of the yester years. She is a bona-fide star in the true sense of the term and has created magic on screen since the beginning of her career.. A 'Dreamgirl' in the true sense of the term for every man out there due to her credibility and ethics as a human being and not just as an actress.

Many actresses come and go and have their share of highs and lows but Hema Malini's respect and fandom has only seemed to increase over the years irrespective of the fact that she doesn't do too many movies now.

An actress, a dancer, a respected MP from Mathura and a social worker, people didn't just fall in love with the 'Hema Malini' on screen but the person off screen as well.

Her first major movie role came in 'Sapno Ka Saudagar' and since then the lady has never looked back. She has aced both comic as well as dramatic roles with perfection and she truly defined the quintessential 'woman'. She boasts an amazing folio of having worked with greats like Raj Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Shatrugan Singh and so on and has truly earned the tag of a legendary actress in the Hindi film industry.

The actress was in Kolkata along with Ram Kamal Mukherjee, a celebrity Journalist, Author, Filmmaker and her biographer for two books, the last one being 'Beyond the Dream Girl- Hema Malini' on Thursday, 6th December 2018 to celebrate her journey of 50 years in the industry in 'INFOCOM 2018, an initiative by ABP.' Ram Kamal Mukherjee apart from being her biographer has also directed her daughter Esha Deol Takhtani in his short film 'Cakewalk' by Assorted Motion Pictures and henceforth he was definitely the ideal choice to moderate a session with Hema Malini on her 50 years.

When asked about her journey she explained how she has been fortunate to have got opportunities to work alongside great people and to have received the love of the audience for so many years at a stretch and she is grateful for that.

On being asked by Ram about Dharmendra's role in her career after marriage, she spoke about how supportive Dharam ji had been towards her career even after marriage, a phenomenon quite rare then in the film industry and when she was asked about her first meeting with Dharam ji, she spoke about how they met at a film premiere show and when Dharam ji had seen her, he had funnily remarked to his friend, 'Kudi Changi Hai'.

Since then the love story developed and faced many hits and blows together to come up stronger and stronger over the years.

The funny moments didn't just end there. On being asked by Ram about a director she would like to work with next amidst the current gen of directors, she sportingly took Rohit Shetty's name and mentioned how she would do great in a film like 'Golmaal.' We hope you are listening Rohit Shetty when the queen of hearts and dreamgirl is being appreciative towards you herself.

Hema Malini surely left the audience in awe of her once again, this time in a new way. Maybe a much more high spirited informal and cordial version of her's was seen as she touched 50 years in the industry.

We at CineSpeaks would like to congratulate Hema Malini ji on a superb journey of 50 years in the industry and would like to tell her that there was, is and will be only one 'DREAMGIRL' in the hearts of people irrespective of generations as that undisputed tag only belongs to her.

A 'DREAM' journey indeed.
